"LUCKY'S JET SECRET" HAS ARRIVED!!

UPDATE
Secret is very ill. Her stools got very runny when
she was 3 days old and kept getting worse. On Sat. evening, June 14th, she was down, very weak and had bad scours.
The vet was called out and he gave her a couple of shots. The next day she was not any better, so on Monday we started
her on IV fluids, 1 liter each day. She is also on antibiotics and prodiotics. The vet thinks she was born too
early(possibly up to 2 weeks early) because she does not seem to have a very good sucking reflex and is not nursing very much.
As of today, June 19th, her stool is a little more solid(more like paste), but she is very weak and thin. She is no
longer the happy, healthy foal that we see in these photos. We are starting to give her Foal Lac every 2 to 4 hours
now. Her legs are very weak and are starting to bow on her as well, but the vet thinks she will come out of that as
soon as she gets enough nutrition. We will continue with the IV treatment as long as she needs it, possibly another
couple of days. We have found that she also likes yogurt, so she gets that once a day as well. I will try to post
updates daily on how she is doing. Please help us pray for her to get better and grow strong!
SECRET WAS HELPED ACROSS THE RAINBOW BRIDGE
ON SAT. MORNING, JUNE 28TH.
On June 26th, Secret lost her two hind hooves. The
vet said is was because of lack of circulation in her back feet. Advice from Columbia University vets was to help her
across. She is now at peace and resting in the back lot behind the horse pasture. She will be terribly missed.

Secret is really quite the girl! She is very active and strong. She appears to be bay, but her nose is grey,
her tail is salt&pepper grey, there is grey around her eyes, her legs are grey, and her under side is a grulla color.
Her mane is black and she has black on her back from her tail up over her rump, but not all the way down her back.
She also has zebra stripes on her back legs and hips. Any guesses to what color she will turn out to be?

Secret was a beautiful filly and she will be missed. Her mother was bred back and we expected to have a new
baby next year, but she has now come back in heat, after Thunder was gelded, so it was not to be for Lucky to give us another
foal. Thanks again to all my friends that have kept me strong through all of this and for all their kind words.
